Jose Mourinho said he is in the dark about becoming the next Manchester United manager after being quizzed in Singapore.
Mourinho parted company with Chelsea for a second time in December following a poor defence of their Premier League title.
Reports earlier this month indicated that Mourinho and his representatives are increasingly confident he will be United manager next season.
“The reality is I like football so much that I miss football so when I get the chance to be back I will come back but I have to wait to see what happens,” Mourinho said.
“I read so many different things. One day says yes one day says no. One other day says I am going to China, another to Italy, every day new things are coming but the reality is that I have no job and at this moment I am happy not to have a job,”
Jose Mourinho also hinted he will not take a new job until the start of next season and remained coy over his prospects of taking over at Manchester United.
“I miss football. If I have to return tomorrow I return tomorrow but I always feel that it is better to wait, not to rush, it’s better to be calm to wait for the right moment, for the right move, I think starting the next season with a new club, a new project is probably the best thing for me,” he added.
